Hunter Ackerley is an undergraduate student at the University of Arizona studying Psychological Science with a minor in Music. Ackerley first studied harp and performed with St. Paul’s United Methodist Church’s Harp Choir in Tucson, Arizona under the direction of Dr. Carrol McLaughlin until the age of 18. As a member of HarpFusion, under the direction of Dr. Michelle Gott, she works collaboratively with other ensemble members on a variety of styles of musical arrangements. Outside of her harp studies, she co-founded and now runs a nonprofit organization called CCAP Across The Map focused on cervical cancer awareness and prevention in underserved areas around the globe. She also works in a lab on her university campus as an emotional support mentor for first year college students. This experience has solidified her future goal of becoming a therapist and working with underserved populations. Ackerley will graduate with her Bachelor of Science in Psychological Science, along with a minor in Music, in the Spring of 2021.
